Losing Skype Credits
You will lose any balances on your Skype account if you do not make a SkypeOut call for 180 days. You must successfully complete a SkypeOut call to keep your account open.

Obtaining Skype Credits
SkypeOut calls require you to open an account and obtain Skype Credits before you can make such calls. The IT Department can allocate Skype Credits to users in the Star Café Skype Users group.

SkypeIn
With SkypeIn you can get calls on your Skype software from regular phone users. You can also get a local phone number with SkypeIn in 14 different countries. You need to set up an account with Skype to use SkypeIn.

You can use SkypeOut to make calls to regular telephones and mobile phones from your computer. You will need to set up an account with a credit card before you can use SkypeOut.

What is Skype
Skype is free software that allows you to make phone calls on your computer over the Internet. Skype also allows for making calls to regular phone users and recieving calls from phone users, though an account may have to be set up first.
