
Here are the
instructions for the Office 2007 installation for all AFSC offices and
departments. All offices will do the installation using the Office 2007 CD.
Offices outside Philadelphia will find the necessary additional Office 2007
plug-ins and updates on their server, if they log onto one, or on Microsoft’s
website.
· The Office 2007 CD is to be used for installations in all AFSC offices
· For offices that log onto servers, the Office 2007 folder on the server’s F:\Office 2007 drive (Apps folder) will have the additional plug-ins and updates to be installed using the Microsoft Updates program or the Microsoft Office update site
· For offices that do not log onto servers, Microsoft website links are provided in this installation guide for the plug-ins and updates

You will use the Office 2007 CD for installations in all AFSC offices. After the installation, there are additional plug-ins and Office 2007 updates required. If the user logs onto a server, these plug-ins and updates will be found in the server’s Apps folder (F:\Office 2007). Offices that don’t log onto servers will find links to Microsoft’s update sites in this installation guide.
Installation Procedure
1. Insert the Office 2007 installation CD.
2. Enter your 25-character Product Key.
3. When the key is validated, a green check mark will appear. Click Continue.
4. Accept the agreement and click Continue.
5. Select the Upgrade Option and an Installation Progress bar will appear.
6. Select
Yes if you are asked to reboot to
complete the setup.
7. The
Installation complete screen should appear; click Close.

Click on the Outlook icon. Outlook will begin migrating to the 2007 version and importing the user’s preferences.

If you are prompted to install Windows Desktop Search, refuse. Click Do not show this message again to prevent this prompt from appearing in the future.
The Snapshot Viewer enables you to
view a report snapshot created with any version of Microsoft Access.
If the user logs onto a server, install the Snapshot Viewer by navigating to F:\Office2007\Snapshot Viewer and running the Snapshot Viewer Plug-in executable file.
If the user does not log onto a server, or they do not have a mapping to an F: drive, follow these instructions to download the utility from Microsoft’s website.
1. Navigate
to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads
and select Access 2000 as shown
below.

2. Select Snapshot Viewer for Microsoft Access.
3. Click
on the Download button.
4. Click Run to install the program once it has finished downloading.
This is an add-on for Microsoft Office 2007 that will allow users to save their Office documents as PDF files without requiring a third-party PDF printing driver.

If the user logs onto a server, install the converter by navigating to F:\Office2007 and running the PDF Converter plug-in (SaveAsPDFandXPS.exe).
If you do not log on to a server or do not have a mapping to an F: drive, navigate to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ and click on Office Professional Edition 2003.
Download the PDF Converter by selecting the 2007 Microsoft Office Plug-in titled, Save as PDF or XPS.

Follow all prompts and select Run when it has finished downloading.
The Trust Center is where you can find security and privacy settings for the 2007 Office system programs. You will need to make one change in your Office 2007 Access application:
1. Open your Access 2007 application
2. Click
the Microsoft Office Button
and then click Access Options at the bottom of the box.
3. On
the Tools Menu click Trust Center, and then click Trust Center Settings.

4. Click
on Add new locations.
5. Click
on Browse.

6. Select the H: drive. This will allow Access 2007 to use files on your H: drive without error messages.
