C. Details:

After upgrading the Internet Explorer on our computers to version 7.0, many users found their emails printed without a header—such as who the email was from or the time stamp. This problem can occur with Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express, but it does not occur with Outlook 2007.

Microsoft acknowledges the problem in their Knowledge Base article kb931657. Microsoft has a pre-release hotfix, but since they haven’t done a full regression test on it yet, use it as a last resort. Try the workaround below first. If the workaround doesn’t fix the problem, then consider applying the hotfix. Be sure that your data has been backed up before applying the hotfix. Contact the IT Department’s helpdesk to find out what and how to back up your data.

If you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends waiting for the next Internet Explorer 7 service pack to fix this.

Workaround

1.   Exit Outlook.

2.   Open Internet Explorer 7.0.

3.   Click on the small down arrow next to the Printer icon on the toolbar and click on Page Setup.

4.   Set all the margins to 0.5 inches.

5.   Click OK.

6.   Close Internet Explorer.

7.   Open Outlook and try to print the message that has the problem.
